The Edisto Buoy is reading 4.3 feet at 6 seconds in a short-period south-west wind swell.
Surf has begun to pick up in fresh SSW wind-swell. Look for a building trend from now until late Friday night. We’ll be watching as low pressure and an associated cold front moves into our marine area Friday into Saturday, with strong pre-frontal winds from the south/south west for Thursday into Friday. Look for waist high waves Thursday building significantly Friday afternoon into Saturday morning with choppy, drifty conditions expected. Perhaps we’ll see a clean up late day Saturday. Winds and swell come north for Sunday as temperatures cool and surf falls off.
The NOAA Marine Weather forecast for our area calls for: “High pressure will prevail through Thursday before a cold front is expected to affect the area Friday into Saturday. Cool high pressure will build back across the region late weekend into early next week.”
It’s 70* and sun mixed with clouds. Look for a high of 77* with clouds mixed with sunshine.
Water temperature is up to 65*.
The days are getting longer. Sunrise is at 6:47 a.m., and sunset will be at 6:16 p.m.
