Waves at the Washout are around stomach to chest high with some bigger sets. Fog is trying to burn off. We are coming off a full moon high tide and was still bouncing off the rocks a little.
Winds are currently south around 5 knots and surf-zone is semi-choppy. We will see winds continue out of the south 5-10 knots throughout the day.
High tide was at 7:30 a.m. Low tide will be at 1:45 p.m. High tide will be at 7:47 p.m.,
The Edisto buoy is currently reading 5.2 ft at 7 seconds in a short-period south-east swell mixed with a southeast wind swell of 4.6 ft at 6.7 seconds.
Look for surf to continue having a little size throughout the day and picking up on the incoming tide with semi-choppy conditions this afternoon. Could be really fun before sunset if the winds stay reasonable. For mid-week, look for high pressure to move off of the mid-Atlantic to the east. We should see a really nice Bermuda high pressure wind swell move into South Carolina’s Beaches. Winds will be moderate from the south, and air temperatures are forecast to get warm. This swell remains rideable until another cold front moves through sometime on Sunday, and winds come strong off-shore once again and blow down the surf for early in the next work week.
NOAA Forecast: “High pressure will prevail today. A cold front will approach Friday and stall near or over the area. A secondary cold front will push through early Sunday, followed by high pressure into the middle of next week.”
Current water temp: 51*.
It’s 63* and foggy this morning. Look for a high of 68* and a chance for the sun to sneak out for a little whole this afternoon.
Sunrise is 7:18 a.m., Sunset 5:44 p.m.
That’s all from us at Ocean Surf Shop. We’ll check back tomorrow.
