Mandatory Mask Ordinance enacted by Folly Beach City Council on Monday. You must wear a mask in Ocean Surf Shop. Thank you for your cooperation, and for supporting our small, local business.

Surf at Folly is knee-high with a rare thigh-set in small south wind swell. It’s soft and weak at the higher tide this morning.

Winds are light from the west, and surf-zone is textured but clean.

Winds should switch south today at 5 to 10 knots. Surface texture and a bit of chop more noticeable in the afternoon hours.

We have a low tide at noon., and a high tide will be at 6:38 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 2.6 ft. at 5 seconds in a short period south/south-west wind swell.

A weak upper level through will linger over our marine area over the latter-half of the work week bringing with it surf averaging knee high, with perhaps a thigh set. This carries through the weekend, with small surf continuing. There is a low pressure brewing near the Central Florida coast late in the weekend that will bring rain and slightly bigger south wind swell for our beaches late Monday and into Tuesday.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “A stationary front will linger over or near the area into this weekend. A low pressure system could then impact the area early next week with drier weather to likely follow through Wednesday.”

It’s 78* and partly cloudy this morning. Look for a hot, humid day with a  high of 85* and a 40% chance for a shower or thunderstorm later this afternoon.

Water temperature is way up to 83*.

Sunrise is at 6:15 a.m. and sunset will be at 8:31 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
