Time of Report: 8:30 a.m.
Wave Forecast: Flat. Maybe knee.
Traffic: Not too bad.
Parking: lots to be found
Dangers: None.

Good morning this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Thursday, July 6th at 8:30 a.m.

We have new Catch Surf and SofTech boards in so you can get your small wave surf ON for the doldrums of summer. Come on by and check them out.

Surf at the Pier this morning is pretty flat.

Winds are very light out of the west, and surf zone clean and weak. There is a little something coming in but no energy behind it.

Winds are 5 kt out of the west swinging to the south in the afternoon around 5-10kts.

We have a high tide at 11:56 a.m., low tide follows at 5:57 p.m. Next high tide will be after midnight at 12:27 a.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 1 foot at 8 seconds in medium period east/southeast swell. With a south- wind swell of 3.0 feet at 4.5 seconds.

We have summer-small, short-period south/south-west wind swell in the water, with storms once again predicted for our area, and muggy weather conditions. Look for groundswell to increase at some point this weekend to early in the week as a low could possibly form off of a stalled frontal boundary. Other than that, your looking at very small surf for the work week, with hot weather and storms.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “An inland trough will persist through the end of the week. Thereafter, a weak front will approach the region late weekend and meander near the area through the middle of next week.”

Water temperature is around 85*

Its 79* with clouds. Temps will eventually climb to a high of 86* with a chance of storms in the evening.

Sunrise is at 6:16 a.m., and sunset will be at 8:31 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
