Mandatory Mask Ordinance enacted by Folly Beach City Council in late June. You must wear a mask in Ocean Surf Shop. Thank you for your cooperation, and for supporting our small, local business.
We have a new shipment of Odysea and Catch Surf soft-boards that arrived and they are going fast. Come check them out.
Surf at The Washout is knee-high. There is a rare thigh set. It’s best for the long-board this morning.
Winds are light from the west/north-west, and conditions are nice and clean.
Winds should increase later today, eventually going south-west at 5 to 10 knots this afternoon. Look for bumpy conditions for afternoon, with cleaner conditions for high-tide this morning.
We have a high tide at 11:43 a.m. Low tide follows at 5:41 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 2 feet at 8 seconds in an east/south-east swell.
Surf is looking to fall off some for Friday, but we then see increasing, choppy south-west wind swell for the weekend as a trough of low pressure lingers in our marine area. This should carry into the work week. It’ll be choppy and drifty, but we should see some localized south/south-west wind-swell later Saturday into Sunday.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “A trough of low pressure will linger over the area through early next week. High pressure is expected to return towards the middle of next week.”
It’s 78* and mostly cloudy at the beach this morning. Look for a 50% chance of rain and thunderstorms this afternoon with a high of 86*.
Water temperature is way up to 84*.
Sunrise is at 6:19 a.m. and sunset will be at 8:30 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
