Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Thursday, June 10 at 8:30 a.m.

Surf at Folly is thigh-to-waist high this morning in a choppy south-west wind swell.

Winds are south-west, 15 to 18 knots, and surf is choppy and weak at the higher tide, but it is rideable on a high volume board if you need to get wet. There is a slight drift up the beach, south-to-north.

Winds continue in from the south-west at 15 knots today, and we see choppy surf in the thigh-to-waist high range as the tide comes in late day.

We have a high tide as of report time, and low tide will be at 2:24 p.m. The next high tide will be at 8:53 p.m.

Surf is rideable but not great this morning. Probably best for the high-volume board. Winds trend south-west to end the work week, and look for thigh-to-waist high south-west wind-swell in the forecast with overall choppy conditions. This continues through Saturday, when wind-swell could clean up some. Not anything big, but likely rideable on the right gear. Surf falls off for Sunday and into the next work week after a frontal passage.

Your National Weather Service Marine Weather forecast calls for: “Atlantic high pressure will prevail through Friday. A weak cold front will move across the area over the weekend, before another front approaches the region by early to the middle of next week.”

It’s 79* and mostly cloudy at the beach. Look for a high of 83* with mostly cloudy skies and a chance of showers this afternoon.

Water temperature is around 80*.

Sunrise is at 6:11 a.m. and sunset will be at 8:27 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
