Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Thursday, June 11 at 8:30 a.m.
New men’s Vissla Boardshorts and apparel has arrived at the shop, as well as their line of short-sleeve button-downs. We’ve also got new Freestyle watches in the shop. Come see what’s new.
Waves at Folly this morning are thigh-to-waist high with a stomach high set in a south wind-swell. Maybe a slightly bigger set as the tide comes in this morning. Nothing huge, but a few fun, chunky waves to be had, but the form is not great.
Winds are south/south-west at 15 knots, and surf zone is a bit textured, but overall clean.
Winds are forecast southerly at 10 to 15 knots in the afternoon. Choppy south- wind waves should be rideable all day.
We are coming off a low tide at 7 a.m., and we have a high tide at 1:08 p.m., and a low tide at 7:05 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 4.3 ft. at 5 seconds in a short-period, south/south-east swell.
There is a little south-wind swell in the water today as a cold-front lingers in our marine area. We continue to see rideable but choppy southerly wind waves all day. Surf should continue choppy this afternoon as winds come southerly at 15 knots. Look for some smaller -but rideable – south-swell leftovers on Friday morning as the tide comes in. Unfortunately it’s looking like small, long-board style waves with a light southerly flow for most of the weekend. So if you want a bigger wave today might be your day.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “A cold front will stall over the area into the weekend. Another cold front will approach the area early next week. Weak high pressure should then prevail during the middle of next week.”
It’s 79* and cloudy this morning with a few showers in the area. Look for a high of 81* and humidity today with sun and some clouds. There is a chance of a shower all day.
Water temperature is 80*.
Sunrise is at 6:10 a.m. and sunset will be at 8:28 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
