Good morning this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report for Thursday, June 15 at 8:30 a.m.

Surf at Folly this morning is knee-to-thigh high with a waist high set. The tide is going out, so it’ll likely get smaller mid-day.

Winds are west at 5 to 10 knots, and surf zone is clean, early.

Winds will eventually increase south-west at 15 knots with a higher gust. Look for choppy surf this afternoon as winds pick up.

Tide is going out. We have a low tide at 12:17 p.m. We have a high tide at 6:50 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 5 feet at 6 seconds in a short-period south-west wind swell.

We should see a little south/south-west wind wave averaging thigh high with bigger sets for the remainder of the work week. Friday, look for choppy conditions, and waves averaging thigh high with waist high sets. Probably best to get it in the mornings for cleanest conditions. South-west wind swell drops for late Saturday into Sunday, but we could see a little trade wind swell as a front approaches early week, with continued typical south-west wind waves for mid-week.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “A stationary front will linger in the vicinity today before shifting offshore or dissipating this weekend. Low pressure should then prevail across the region early next week with a front approaching the local area during the middle of the week.”

Water temperature is around 77*.

Its 72* with mostly cloudy conditions. Look for a high of around 79* with clouds and storms expected on-and-off today.

Sunrise is at 6:11 a.m., and sunset will be at 8:28 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
