Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Thursday, June 16 at 8:30 a.m.
Surf at Folly is knee high. Maybe slightly bigger. There could be a long-board glide on the incoming, but it’s certainly not very big.
Winds are north-west at 5 to 10 knots, and surf zone is clean.
Look for winds to rotate easterly this afternoon at 10 knots, making for choppier, small surf. Winds go south-east at 10 to 15 late afternoon.
Tide is coming in, and high tide will be at 1:46 p.m. The next low tide will be at 7:50 p.m.
We have small surf this morning after a frontal passage last night. Surf looks small for the remainder of the work week, into Saturday. There is the possibility of a tropical storm making landfall in the Gulf of Mexico this weekend that could affect our weather and our surf Monday and Tuesday in building southerly wind-chop swell. We’ll keep you posted.
Your National Weather Service Marine Weather forecast calls for: “High pressure will build into the area today and prevail through Saturday. Unsettled weather during the early and middle parts of next week.
It’s 74* and sunny at the beach. It’s perfect out here this morning. Look for a high of 85* mostly sunny skies today.
