Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Thursday, June 30 at 8:30 a.m.
We just received a big shipment of Gary Wilson board, with lots of mid-lengths and longboards in the mix. Come get a summer board.
Waves at the Washout is knee-to-thigh high. Might be a longboard glide out there if you want to whip out the longboard.
Winds are north/north-east at 10 knots. It’s glassy this morning.
We are expecting winds to from the east, rotating south-east this afternoon. Winds will average 10 to 12 knots today. Look for bumpy, semi-choppy surf this afternoon.
High tide is at 9:30 a.m., and low tide will be at 3:15 p.m. The next high tide is at 9:43 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 2.3 feet at 7 seconds in a medium period south-easterly swell.
Looks like a small southerly trade-wind swell will build Friday into your holiday weekend. Nothing too big, but we will see some longboardable surf build into the weekend as wind stays onshore from the south. Certainly not the hurricane swell you’re waiting for, but maybe a few fireworks for the nose-walkers out there.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “A surface trough will affect the area through Saturday. Atlantic high pressure will then rebuild Sunday through much of next week.”
It’s 77* and cloudy at the beach. We do expect a few showers late morning with a high of 80* at the beach today.
Water Temperature is around 84*.
Sunrise is at 6:15 a.m., and sunset will be at 8:31 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
