Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Thursday, June 9 at 8:30 a.m.

Surf at The Pier this morning is about knee high at the low tide this morning. It’s not looking very good.

Winds are west/south-west at 10 knots, and surf zone is weak and semi-clean with the side-shore winds.

Look for south-west winds this afternoon at 10 to 15 knots, and we see a choppier surf zone with waves staying small today.

Low tide will be at 9:44 a.m., and high tide will be at 4:15 p.m. The next low tide is at 10:28 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 3.3 feet at 5 seconds in a short-period, south-west wind wave.

We see south-west winds for mid-to-late week, and a typical summer weather pattern with choppy south-west wind swell in the forecast. Not much cooking out there swell wise for at least the next several days. Perhaps a stronger south-west wind swell ahead of a cold front increasing south-west wind chop for Sunday.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “A cold front will pass across the region today into tonight, before stalling in the vicinity into the weekend. Another front could arrive early next week.”

It’s 81* and cloudy this morning.  Look for a high of 84* with rain and thunderstorms developing on-and-off today.

Water Temperature is around 83*.

Sunrise is at 6:11 a.m., and sunset will be at 8:27 p.m.
