Good morning, this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Thursday, March 24 at 8:30 a.m.

New Carver 2022 Surfskates have arrived at Ocean, including the Kai Lenny and JOB models. Come get tuned up for surf.

Surf at The Washout this morning is thigh-waist high and choppy. It’s kind of dumping at the lower tide, but could get better form as the tide rolls in some.

Winds are south-southwest at 6 knots, and surf zone is choppy.

Look for south-west winds at 10-15 this afternoon as a cold front continues pushing through today. Expect building south wind-swell in the water with choppy conditions this afternoon.

We have a high tide at 1:22 p.m., and a low tide at 7:32 p.m. today.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 5.2 feet at 7.1 seconds in a building, short-period south-east wind swell.

Look for choppy, building south-east wind swell filling in all day. We see a cold front and an associated storm system approaching our waters for today and tomorrow, and with it we will see south/south-west winds and another south wind swell continue filling in today. This cleans up and drops for Friday after the cold front passage. Surf falls off Saturday into Sunday.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “A cold front will advance slowly through the area today. A dry cold front will cross the region Friday night, followed by high pressure through the middle of next week. A system will then impact the area near the end of next week.”

It’s currently 67* and cloudy this morning. Look for a high of 70* with thunderstorms moving through all day.

Water Temperature is around 64*.

Sunrise is at 7:17 a.m., and sunset will be at 7:34 p.m.
