Thursday, March 19
Clean early, texture later.
Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop Surf report and forecast for Thursday, March 19 at 8:30 a.m.
We have new spring inventory arriving daily, as well as Catch Surf surfboards coming in late week. Come check it out.
Surf at The Pier this morning is knee-to-thigh high with a waist high set in a high angled east swell.
There is slight drift from north-to-south.
Winds are north at 10 knots, and surf zone is clean. Look for north-east winds today around 10 knots, with slight texture to the surf-zone for your Thursday.
High tide is at 8:49 a.m., low tide is at 2:50 p.m., and tide will be high again for your afternoon session at 9:02 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 3 feet at 9 seconds in an east/south-east swell, with an east/north-east wind swell 4 feet at 5 seconds.
There is a longboard wave to be had this morning, and this should continue through your Thursday with mixed easterly swell in the water. This easterly mix will continue Friday and Saturday, but south-west winds are predicted this weekend ahead of a cold front, so look for some south-west chop on high-angled easterly swell Saturday and Sunday. Likely something to ride, and better than nothing. Choppy south-west wind-swell will fill in to start your work week.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure will prevail through the weekend. A cold front may drop through the area early next week, followed by more high pressure.”
It’s 51* and sunny today. Look for a high of 64* and sunny today. Not a bad beach day, if not a little cool.
Water temp is around 60*
Sunrise is at 7:24 a.m., and sunset is at 7:30 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
