Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Thursday, March 25 at 8:30 a.m.

Surf at The Washout this morning is knee-high with a slightly bigger set as the tide rolls out. It’s pretty weak, and you’ll need a log if you want to surf.

There is no wind this morning, and surf is perfectly clean.

Look for winds to increase from the south this afternoon at 10 to 15 knots, and we expect choppy, small surf this afternoon.

Tide is going out and will be low at 12:03 p.m. High tide is at 6:13 this evening.

Virtual buoy readings are showing 2.4 ft. at 8 seconds in a small, medium period mixed direction easterly swell.

We have small, clean surf this morning. It should get choppy as south winds pick up this afternoon ahead of an approaching front. Surf looks to pick up waist-to-stomach high in a pre-frontal wind swell on Friday as a weak cold front approaches, stalls and then dissipates in our marine area. Surf looks to fall off some for Saturday, picking up in choppy south-west wind swell again on Sunday ahead of a stronger cold front. Winds go north-east behind the front to start the work week, and we see high angled north-east wind swell once again. Most of which will pass by our beaches.

Your National Weather Service Marine Weather forecast calls for: “Weak high pressure will persist through the end of the week. A weakening cold front will stall and dissipate over the region Friday. Another cold front could then move through the region late this weekend, followed by high pressure through the middle of next week.”

It is currently 63* with clouds this morning. Look for a high of 72* with partly cloudy skies.

Water temperature is around 61*, and should start climbing.

Sunrise is at 7:14 a.m. and sunset will be at 7:34 p.m.
