Good morning this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Thursday, March 30 at 8:30 a.m.
Surf at Folly is knee-high, and likely will be rideable on a longboard of softie as the tide starts to come in late morning.
Winds are light from the north/north-west and surf zone is perfectly clean.
Look for winds to rotate north-east at 10 knots, then easterly late. This should create some surface chop on small surf today.
We have a low tide at 9:53 a.m., and a high tide at 3:56 p.m. The next low tide will be at 9:53 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading three feet at 8 seconds in a medium period east/south-east swell.
Waves are still pretty small today. Best hope for more meaningful surf looks to be late Friday into Saturday, when a cold front approaches and sends in a shot of choppy south/south-west wind swell for Saturday, possibly cleaning up sometime on Sunday after the cold front passage. The beginning of the work week looks like small surf once again.
The NOAA Marine Weather forecast for our area calls for: “High pressure will reside over the area through Friday. A cold front will cross through the area Saturday, followed by returning high pressure into early next week.”
It’s 52* and sunny this morning. Look for a high of 66* and sun today.
Water temperature is back up to 65*.
Sunrise is at 7:10 a.m., and sunset will be at 7:38 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
