Good morning this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Thursday, May 25 at 8:30 a.m.
We just received a whole shipment of Orion boards. Performance short-boards, grovlers, mid-lengths and some sweet longboards. Come check them out.
Surf at The Washout this morning is a bit drifty down the beach, but there is a wave to ride, especially for the high-volume boards. It’s around thigh-to-waist high. Might get a bit bigger as the tide moves in.
Winds are north – side/off-shore – at 15 knots, and waves semi-clean and a bit drifty.
Look for NNE winds to begin to crank harder later into the afternoon hours.
We will have a high tide 1:03 p.m, and low tide is at 6:47 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 4.9 feet at 9 seconds from the east.
Surfs around thigh-waist high on this mornings low tide. Look for improvement as the tide begins filling in. Late week models are showing a more significant low-pressure system to develop over central Florida and eventually push off their coastline and will generate another ESE swell mixed with strong north/north-east winds. This low looks to approach our coastline Saturday. Winds will be tricky but keep you eyes on the flags. Could get good this weekend
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “High pressure will build from the north through Thursday. A coastal low pressure system will affect the area Thursday night through Saturday. Weak high pressure will then build in.”
Its 64* and mostly sunny this morning. Look for rain showers to develop later today 74* and wind.
Water temperature is 75*.
Sunrise is at 6:16 a.m., and sunset will be at 8:17 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
