Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Thursday, June 3 at 8:30 a.m.
Surf at Folly is knee-to-thigh high at the lower tide this morning. It’s looking like it might pick up as the tide comes in later this morning.
Winds are south-east at 10 knots, and surf is bumpy and choppy.
Winds rotate south at 10 to 15 with a higher gust later this morning. Surf-zone should get choppy and wave should pick up some as the day wears on.
We have a low tide at 9:30 a.m., and a high tide will be at 3:50 p.m. The next low tide is at 9:59 p.m.
We see increasing south wind-swell this afternoon with choppy conditions at the higher tide. High pressure sets up to our north, as a mid-level low pressure system develops to our south-east late in the week. This will cause a bit more significant on-shore flow from the south-east late week. Surf should be on the increase later in the work week with a nice, small trade-winds swell rolling in Thursday into the weekend. Winds trend south at 10 to 15 knots for the period, so expect some chop in the ground swell.
Your National Weather Service Marine Weather forecast calls for: “Abundant moisture and a few disturbances will bring unsettled weather through late week with some improvement possible early to mid-next week.”
It’s 77* and mostly cloudy at the beach. Look for a high of 79* and rain on-and-off today.
Water temperature is around 78*.
Sunrise is at 6:12 a.m. and sunset will be at 8:23 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
