Good morning this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Wednesday, November 16 at 8:30 a.m.
Waves at The Washout this morning are knee-to-thigh high with a rare waist set. Looks like it would be fun on a high volume board with some nice lines, and tide IS coming in.
Winds are blowing north/north-west at 10 to 15 knots, and surf zone is clean, but the off-shore winds will start blowing down the surf.
We see north-west winds today averaging 10 knots, and this will keep the surf-zone clean all day.
High tide will be at 1:11 p.m., and low tide will be at 7:33 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 3.3 feet at 5 seconds in a short period south/south-west wind swell, with an easterly medium period swell reading 2.3 feet at 8 seconds.
Small wind-swell that we enjoyed yesterday afternoon will begin to fade today as off-shore flow is forecast through the weekend. There’s not much on the horizon, through Monday, but there is a hint of a swell starting up on Tuesday of next week building bigger into the middle part of the next work week.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “High pressure will build across the Deep South for the next several days. This will lead to a stretch of rather cool temperatures for the latter half of the week and through the weekend.”
It’s a chilly 56* overcast and light rain this morning. Look for a high of 62* and clouds all day.
Water temperature is running around 69*
Sunrise is at 6:50 a.m., and sunset will be at 5:46 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
