Good morning this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Thursday, November 17 at 8:30 a.m.

A range of new Torq surfboards have arrived at the shop. Come check them out while we still have a wide range of sizes.

Waves at The Washout this morning are knee-high.  Maybe slightly larger on a set, but you’ll need the log if you want to glide on the incoming tide. There are no takers this morning.

Winds are blowing north/north-west at 8 knots, and surf zone is clean.

We see north winds increase this morning at 15 knots, going north-west again late afternoon. Small surf stays fairly clean today.

We just came off a low tide. High tide will be at 2:05 p.m., and low tide will be at 8:25 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 4.6 feet at 5 seconds in a short period north-west wind swell, which is blowing waves away from our beaches.

Small waves are in the forecast as side/off-shore flow is forecast through the weekend. There’s not much on the horizon, through Monday. There is a hint of a swell starting up on Tuesday of next week building bigger into the middle part of the next work week as low pressure moves into our marine area bringing some warmer temperatures and some on-shore flow that could kick up some rideable swell into the middle and latter part of next week.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “High pressure will provide dry and cooler than normal temperatures through this weekend and into early next week. Low pressure could bring showers and temperatures in the 60s and 70s Tuesday through the middle of next week.”

It’s a chilly 48* overcast this morning. Look for a high of 52* and clouds mixed with some sun today.

Water temperature is dropping off. It’s running around 65*

Sunrise is at 6:51 a.m., and sunset will be at 5:17 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
