Weekly Wave Forecast

There’s not surf at Folly today, but the weather is beautiful. Look for increased on-shore winds and bigger easterly wind swell building some Saturday with swell rotating more directly on-shore Sunday as we see a series of low-pressure systems pass across or near our marine area. Winds will be fairly strong from the east – side-shore – Saturday, gradually coming more on-shore Sunday before easting Monday, so expect choppy waist-to-stomach high wind swell for starting Saturday as the afternoon tide comes in. Right now, Sunday looks to build in size with continued choppy conditions as winds and swell come south. This fades to start the work week, with leftovers still coming in Monday.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure will shift into the western Atlantic over the weekend. Meanwhile a series of low pressure systems will move through the southeast United States through early next week. High pressure could rebuild mid to late next week.”
