Good morning this is Luke, with your Folly beach surf report and forecast for Thursday, October 12 at 8:30 a.m.

We just received a ton of O’Neill full-suits for women. WE are stocked. Get in the water as the cool temperatures are here.

Our friends at Surf City in M.B. are throwing a pro/am contest Oct. 27-29 with a $16,000 Pro Purse that will be split among 3 pro divisions. Check it out at https://www.instagram.com/p/CyEB8zxrP7v/ to sign up.

Surf at Folly is running thigh-waist high in really high angled NE wind-swell the is currently building. Overall not looking to hot lots of drift and wind.

Winds blowing up to a potential Gale today 20-30mph+ from the NE to ENE victory at sea.

High tide was at 7:04 a.m. Low tide will be at 12:53 p.m. Next high tide will fill in at 7:16 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 6.6ft at 5 seconds from the ENE

Surf is building in localized ENE wind-swell. All the moisture we talked about earlier this week from the Gulf is over us as we speak This system looks to reorganize off the coast and could become a tropical system. It’ll push up some surf for sure, but the only fly in the soup is strong unfavorable winds from the ENE through much of the event. Another system moves through our area Friday night followed by a cold front the should finally rotate our winds more favorably from the west. This swell fades out later Saturday into Sunday. We also have a series of low pressures that will influence our marine area and kick up some surf next week. We will give you more details on that tomorrow.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “  A storm system will move up the coast today, followed by another Friday into Friday night. A cold front will sweep through Saturday night, followed by cool High pressure next week.”

Water temperature is around 73*.

It’s a beautiful 62* showers/rain/wind. Look for a high of 70* today with rain showers some downpours.

Sunrise is at 7:20 a.m., and sunset will be at 6:52 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
