Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Thursday, October 3 at 8:30 a.m.

All of our fall merchandise is on the floor. Come check out what’s new for cooler weather, if it every gets below 90* again.

Surf at The Washout this morning is waist-to-stomach high. There is a chest set. It looks smaller than it has been, but still really fun at Folly today.

Winds are from the north-west at 5 knots, and surf is super clean.

Look for moderate south winds today around 5 to 10 knots, adding bump to the surf zone later today.

Tide is coming in. We have a high tide at 12:25 p.m., and a low tide will be at 6:35 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 3.6 ft at 7 seconds in a medium period east/south-east ground swell.

We should see continued easterly ground swell in the waist high range with a bigger set this morning. Look for south winds adding bump to the ground swell early afternoon as swell continues to fade, but longboard waves should be good later today. Friday, we see strong cold front approach and strong north/north-east wind-swell build late Friday into Saturday. This wind continues into the weekend, but most of the swell looks to pass our shores and head to Florida. So, surf this week if you can, because we’ll see drifty, choppy surf starting Saturday morning.

We have nice weather this morning. It’s 76* and sunny. Look for another hot day with a high of 92* and partly cloudy skies today.

Water temperature is 82*.

Sunrise is at 7:15 a.m. and sunset will be at 7:01 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
