Good morning, this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Thursday, October 5 at 8:30 a.m.

We have wetsuits on the floor for men and women.  This weekend we have morning temps in the 50’s. Come get ready for cold weather surfing with Ocean Surf Shop.

Surf at Folly this morning thigh-waist high with some+ sets on the incoming tide. Winds are lighter than they have been. Looks worth a shot.

Winds are north/north-east at 5 to 10 knots this morning, and surf is a bit drifty but there are some clean waves.

We see side-shore conditions today with north/north-east winds at 10 to 15 later today.

We just came off a low tide. High tide will fill in at 1:01 p.m.  and another low to close the day out just after sunset.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 4.9ft at 10 seconds in ESE swell.

Surf is holding in averaging waist high with a plus sets. Looks fun. Winds are not the best but plenty of swell. We are seeing groundswell from tropical storms Phillipe and reinforcing local ENE wind-swell Looking ahead Phillipe keeps churning just north of the Caribbean islands more favorably into our swell window. It has made the shift now moving more towards the north. We should see some decent groundswell through Friday and early Saturday. Phillipe swell will then taper off and surf will become. Late weekend should be on the smaller side into early work week. Im starting to watch the western Gulf of Mexico Mid-week next week Lots of moisture over warm water that could eventually show some signs of development.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “ High pressure will prevail through tomorrow. A cold front will approach Friday and move offshore Saturday morning with cooler high pressure returning this weekend.”

 Water temperature is around 74*.

It’s 67 with hazy sunshine. Look for a high of around 79* today with a mix of clouds and sunshine.

Sunrise is at 7:15 a.m., and sunset will be at 7:01 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
