Clean. Slightly bumpy later. Small surf.

Time of Report: 8:30 a.m.
Wave Forecast: Flat.
Traffic: Not too bad.
Parking: Plenty.
Dangers: None.

Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Tuesday, September 14 at 8:30 a.m.

Our friend Gary Wilson just brought a whole bunch of boards to the shop. Come check them out while we still have some in stock.

Surf at the Washout is flat.

Winds are north-west at 5 knots, and surf zone is very clean. Just not much surf today.

Look for south-east winds at 5 to 8 knots by afternoon, increasing 10 to 12 knots late day.

We are just coming off a low tide, high tide will be at 3:03 p.m. We have another low tide at 9:17 p.m.

The Edisto buoy is reading 1.3 ft. at 8 seconds in a medium period east/south-east swell.

We have small surf today and into the beginning of the work week with high-pressure setting up over our marine area. An area of low pressure is expected to form north of the Bahamas in a few days. This could be our next wave maker Wednesday into Friday. Something to keep an eye on for development. Surf won’t likely be too big, but there could be some fun ground-swell with lighter local winds. There is also Invest-95L coming off the coast of Africa and moving westward. It’s a long way out. But look for possible development of this system. It could be a wave maker about two weeks out.

Your National Weather Service Marine Weather Forecast for our area calls for: “High pressure will prevail today. Then, low pressure will pass far offshore and move away from the region by late week. Weak high pressure will then prevail into next weekend.”

It’s 75* this morning and mostly cloudy. Look for a high of 82* with plenty of sun all day. We have perfect beach weather.

Water temperature is around 83*.

Sunrise is at 7:03 a.m. and sunset will be at 7:27 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
