Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Tuesday, April 12 at 8:30 a.m.

Waves are flat again this morning. Maybe ankle-to-knee if you want to be at all optimistic.

Winds are south-west at 5 knots, and surf zone has a little bump on it.

Look for southerly winds today at 10 to 15 knots with gusts to 20 knots this afternoon. Surf will get choppy later today.

We have a low tide at 11:20 a.m., and a high tide at 5:38 pm.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 2.3 feet at 4 seconds in a short period south wind swell.

High pressure is set up over our marine area today. We don’t expect much surf. The next significant swell will likely arrive overnight on Wednesday when another front approaches and pushes in a small-ish, short period south swell Thursday into Friday. If this front generates any wind swell look for a possible clean up Friday morning.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “High pressure will bring dry conditions through Wednesday. A cold front will approach on Thursday, then move through Thursday night. The front lingers nearby through Saturday, with another front moving through the region early next week.”

It’s currently 66* and mostly cloudy. Look for a cool spring beach day with a high of 70* and sun,

Water Temperature dropped back to around 65*.  It’ll go up again later this week.

Sunrise is at 6:55 a.m., and sunset will be at 7:46 p.m.
