Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Tuesday, April 13 at 8:30 a.m.
Surf at The Washout this morning is in flat. So we thought we’d show you a few pictures of the pier’s construction.
Winds are north/north-east at 10 knots, and surf is weak and semi-clean.
Look for winds to blow north-east at 10 to 15 this morning, going east at 10 knots later this afternoon.
We have a high tide at 9:36 a.m., and a low tide at 3:27 p.m. The next high tide is at 9:45 p.m.
Virtual buoy readings are showing mixed easterly swell under 1 ft, with dominant swell at .8 ft from the north-east at 10 seconds.
Surf looks small today and Wednesday, but could pick up some in another south wind swell as a cold front approaches and then stalls off-shore for Thursday. Hopefully a more meaningful low will pop off of this stalled frontal boundary for Friday and into the weekend, but right now swell models are NOT calling for much over the next five days.
Your National Weather Service Marine Weather forecast calls for: “Dry high pressure will prevail through Wednesday. A cold front will advance through the region Thursday then should stall just south and east of the area Friday through early next week. A series of low pressures will track along this stationary front and could produce periods of inclement weather this weekend into early next week.”
It is nice out this morning. Lots of sunshine and 65*. Look for a high of 74* with perfect beach weather on tap for today.
Water temperature is around 67*. It should be going up over the next week.
Sunrise is at 6:50 a.m. and sunset will be at 7:48 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
