Good morning, this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast Tuesday, April 19 at 8:30 a.m.

Waves at The Washout this morning are knee-to-thigh high and clean.

Winds are north at 13 knots and beating down the little swell we had last night.

Look for winds from the north/north-west at 10 to 15 knots later this morning with gusts to 20 knots. Winds will shift out of the north-east around 5-10 knots after midnight tonight.

High tide will be at 10:27 a.m., and low tide will be at 4:30 p.m. The next high tide at 11:01 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 2.3 feet at 9 seconds east/south-east swell.

Swell has dropped since yesterday. The off-shore winds are beating it down pretty good leaving a little something for the high volume board. Swell should come more onshore into the middle of the week, with more favorable winds and some trade wind swell Wednesday through Saturday as high pressure sets up off the mid-Atlantic. This should push up some fun surf. Nothing too big, but likely surf on the radar for mid-to-late week.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “High pressure will prevail across the region through next weekend.

It’s currently 55* with a chilly breeze at the beach. We sunshine all day with a high of 66*. It’s going to be a beautiful day at the beach.

Water Temperature is around 68*.

Sunrise is at 6:45 a.m., and sunset will be at 7:52 p.m.
