Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Tuesday, April 20 at 7:30 a.m.
We just received a shipment of mid-length surfboards from Solid Surf in San Diego and a bunch of great short and long-boards from Greg Geiselman at Orion Surfboards in New Smyrna Beach. Come check them out. We are stocked up with some beautiful boards.
Surf at The Washout this morning is shin to knee high. It is weak and choppy. Looks pretty poor once again.
Winds are easterly at 10 to 15 knots.
Look for easterly winds at 15 to 20 creating surface chop in the surf-zone today. Still, no size to the waves.
We have a low tide at 8:30 a.m., and a high tide at 2:40 p.m. The next low tide is at 8:38 p.m.
Virtual buoy readings are showing less than 1 ft. in mixed direction easterly swell.
We have small waves again this morning. We have weak high pressure over our marine area for the first-half of the work week. A dry cold front passage Wednesday does not show promise for waves mid-week. We have overall small conditions in the forecast all week, but as low pressure moves into our marine area on Saturday, we could see surf pick up Saturday into Sunday with overall choppy conditions as winds come onshore from the south. But there will likely be something to ride. We’ll keep you posted.
Your National Weather Service Marine Weather forecast calls for: “Weak high pressure will prevail today, before a cold front crosses the area on Wednesday. High pressure will then return for late week. A low pressure system will impact the region over the weekend, followed by more high pressure early next week.”
It’s 66* with clouds at the beach early this morning. Look for a high of 71* and partly cloudy skies this afternoon.
Water temperature is around 68*.
Sunrise is at 6:42 a.m. and sunset will be at 7:53 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
