Tuesday, April 6

Semi-choppy. Weak.

Time of Report: 8:30 a.m.
Wave Forecast: Flat.
Traffic: Lots. It's still SPRING BREAK.
Parking: Some.
Dangers: None.

Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Tuesday, April 6 at 8:30 a.m.

We just received a shipment of Torq surfboards for spring. Come check them out.

With travel restrictions starting to be lifted at some foreign surf destinations, you’ll need a travel bag, and we are fully stoked and fully stocked.

Surf at The Washout this morning is pretty much flat.

Winds are west/south-west at 5 knots, and surf zone is semi-choppy and small. Waves are weak.

Look for south-west winds this afternoon at 10 knots, and we see semi-choppy, small surf later today.

Low tide will be at 10:33 a.m., and high tide will be at 4:42 p.m. The next low tide is at 10:50 p.m.

Virtual buoy readings are showing 1 ft. at 8 seconds in a medium period east/south-east swell.

Waves are looking small today. High pressure dominates our weather this week, and we see small surf all week. Look for swell to increase some late in the week as a cold front approaches and brings increasing on-shore flow ahead of the front Thursday and building some Friday, but nothing to really write home about.

Your National Weather Service Marine Weather forecast calls for: “High pressure will prevail through Wednesday night. A slow moving cold front will approach the area Thursday. The front will stall to our far west near the tail end of the week, eventually advancing across the region this weekend.”

It is nice out this morning. Lots of sunshine and 62*. Look for a high of 76* lots of sun, and perfect beach weather.

Water temperature is around 62*. It should be going up this week.

Sunrise is at 6:59 a.m. and sunset will be at 7:43 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
