Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Tuesday, August 11 at 8:30 a.m.
We Have a few new Torq longboards and fun-boards that just arrived. Get them while we still have a few in stock.
New parking restrictions in place on Folly Beach. Please see the City’s Web site for more information. Construction taking place to build sea-wall at The Washout, too.
Surf at Folly this morning is flat and unrideable.
Winds are light and variable with high clouds off-shore. Surf is clean this morning.
Look for winds from the south this afternoon at 5 to 10 knots adding a little more texture later today.
We are coming off a low tide at 7:30 a.m., ad high tide will be at 2 p.m. The next low tide will be at 8:20 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is only reading 1 feet at 10 seconds in long period easterly swell. There is a small, short period south-west wind swell component.
We see small-flat surf to begin our work week. High pressure is right over our general marine area. High pressure shifts further east and looks to produce a small trade swell mid-week producing a thigh-to-waist high wave. Nothing to get to hyped about but something to surf. Invest 95L is a low in the Central Atlantic. It’s something to keep an eye on into next weekend, but it’s not looking so promising as of now.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “The region will remain positioned between Atlantic high pressure well to the east and an inland area of broad low pressure. A weak front could approach the area over the weekend and linger in the vicinity into early next week.”
It’s 77* with clouds this morning. Look for a high of 85* and a 50% chance of a thunderstorm this afternoon.
Water temperature is up to 87*.
Sunrise is at 6:40 a.m. and sunset will be at 8:06 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
