Time of Report: 8:30 a.m.

Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Tuesday, August 2 at 8:330 a.m.

Waves at Folly this morning are knee-to-thigh high.

Winds are west/north-west at 10 knots and surf zone is clean. Looks Ok for the logs and softies this morning.

Look for westerly winds at 10 knots until early afternoon, when the wind will once again clock south-west and increase 15 to 20 late day. Surf zone should get choppy later today.

High tide is at 11:38 a.m., and low tide will be  5:41 p.m. Tide moves in until after dark.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 4 feet at 5 seconds in a short period south-west wind swell.

Waves this morning running in the thigh-high range with some bigger sets. It’s cleaner today than is has been over the past few day and should be longboardable as the tide comes in this morning.  With high pressure set up over our marine area late in the workweek, your surf forecast is looking pretty dismal. Still keeping an eye on the tropics, but not showing any hope 10 days out. Sigh.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “High pressure will prevail in the Atlantic this week withoccasional surface troughing across the region.”

It’s 82* with clouds this morning. Look for a high of 89* with sun and passing clouds this afternoon. Not much rain chance again today.

Water Temperature is around 84*.

Sunrise is at 6:34 a.m., and sunset will be at 8:17 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
