Good morning shreddas! This is Bates, with your Ocean Surf Shop Folly Beach surf report and forecast for Tuesday, August 26 at 8:30 a.m.

Surf at the Pier this morning has dropped some. It’s knee-to-thigh high. Still enough to move the longboard and mostly breaking on the north-side of the pier this morning.

Winds are blowing north at 10 knots, and it’s a nice morning at the beach. Surf-zone is textured.

Look for north wind today around 10 knots, switching to the south-east later today at 10 knots adding chop to the surf zone.

High tide was at 10:45 a.m., and low tide will be at 4:45 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is 2.0 ft at 13 seconds in an easterly ground swell.

Bring the longboard if you want to get wet today. It’s small but rideable. Wednesday and Thursday see similar easterly swell in the thigh high range with easterly wind predicted at around 10 knots. Likely enough to push the longboards. Into the weekend we could see a small, home-grown low pressure system form in our general vicinity of our marine area. This should increase surf size, but quality could be questionable with north-east winds and cooler weather in the forecast. Depending of the forecasted formation of this low, we’ll see what the weekend bring, but bring your board to the beach, cause there could be something to ride.

Water temperature is around 82*.

Its 80* and Sunny this morning look for a high of 84 at the beach with some clouds in the mix, but overall a good beach day.

Sunrise was 6:49 a.m., Sunset 7:55 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
