Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Tuesday, Dec 10 at 8:30 a.m.

We have re-stocked all of our cold water accessories, including booties, gloves and hoods, so come on by when the swell picks up this weekend.

Surf at Folly this morning is waist to chest high with a shoulder high peak and side-shore, but it’s fairly clean early this morning.

Winds are south-west at 5 knots, and expected to increase 10 to 15 by mid-afternoon as a cold front approaches our marine area. Expect chop in the surf later today.

Low tide will be at 12:25 p.m. and high tide will be at 6:29 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 4.3 at 8 seconds in an easterly swell, with a south east wind swell 3.9 ft. at 6 seconds.

We see waist to chest high choppy surf for your Tuesday. We have a quick shot of cold, off-shore wind on Wednesday for a clean-up as swell fades some and rotates more north-easterly late Wednesday. Thursday into Friday, surf (and wind) should be kicking right back up into an even stronger north/easterly swell Thursday and Friday. This swell will be a result from a departing low off GA coast slowly moving northward. Winds go off-shore sometime Saturday depending on the timing of the low, and hopefully will clean up some east swell, which fades out some on Sunday. Look for another south/south-west wind swell ahead of a cold front during the middle of next week.

It is 64* with partly cloudy skies this morning. Look for a high of 70* today with sun behind clouds.

Water temperature is now 57*

Sunrise is at 7:10 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:13 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
