Good morning this is Brad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Tuesday, December 6 at 8:30 a.m.
Waves at the Washout today are waist high and glassy. It has some decent form connecting to the inside this morning.
Winds are north-east at 5-10 knots, and surf is mostly glassy with some texture on the surface.
We see north-east winds at 5-10 knots all day today. Surf will likely be semi-glassy for a majority of the day, as winds aren’t expected to exceed 10 knots.
We’re coming off an early high tide at 6:24 a.m. Low tide is at 12:32 p.m., and high tide will be at 6:43 pm.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 3.6 feet at 10 seconds in a long period east/south-east swell with a short period east/north-east wind swell pushing against it – 2.3 feet at 5.3 seconds.
A front has stalled in our marine area and brought some decent little waves to play with today. A low is expected to form in the western Atlantic and push up a pretty decent easterly swell. The low will likely dissipate Wednesday into Thursday morning. Not so much for Folly, but if you have the means, Florida and the Outer Banks will likely be good mid-to-late week. Hopefully we see some residual swell from the low forming south-east of Bermuda.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “A weak front will remain stalled nearby through Tuesday, then lift north. High pressure will briefly build in before a cold front sweeps through late Friday.”
It’s 58* and mostly cloudy this morning. Look for a high of 76* and clouds today.
Water temperature is around 61*.
Sunrise is at 7:09 a.m., and sunset will be at 5:14 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
