Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Tuesday, February 11 at 8:30 a.m.

Surf at Folly this morning running waist-to-stomach high. It is very foggy at the beach this morning, and waves are soft at the higher tide.

Winds are south-west at 10 to 12 knots and surf zone is bumpy and semi-clean.

Look for winds to increase from the south-west today at 10 to 15 knots with gusts to 25 this afternoon. This adds chop, drift and bump to the surf zone by later this morning.

We will have a high tide at 9:17 a.m., and a low tide will be at 3:30 p.m. The next high tide is at 9:45 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 4.3 ft. at 6  seconds in a short-period south/south-east wind swell.

We should see chopped-up south wind waves with south-west winds predicted for this afternoon at 20 knots ahead of a cold front. The front looks to stall over our general marine area before moving north on Wednesday, when the wind should drop off some, as swell continues from the south in the waist to chest high range.  After another cold front passage on Thursday, winds and wind-swell go north-east, offering smaller, colder surf with drifty choppy conditions for late week.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “A cold front will move into the area tonight before shifting back north as a warm front Wednesday followed by a stronger cold front Thursday. High pressure will then return through Saturday before another storm system possibly affects the area early next week.”

It’s 65* and sunny at the beach. Look for a clouds later and a high of 71 today*

Water temperature is 57*. You’ll need at least a 4/3, and booties to be comfortable in the surf.

Sunrise is at 7:05 a.m. and sunset will be at 6:01 p.m.
