Time of Report: 8:30 a.m.
Wave Forecast: Flat. Knee.
Traffic: Not much.

Dangers: None.

Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for your Tuesday, February 15, at 8:30 a.m.

Surf is once again small this morning. Might be a weak knee high set.

Winds are north at 5 knots, and surf zone is very clean.

Look for winds to increase from the north-east today at 10 knots, going east later this afternoon. We see a semi-choppy surf zone today, and there is not much surf in the forecast for today.

Tide is going out. Low tide will be at 1:06 p.m., and high tide will be at 7:14 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 2 ft. at 11 seconds in a high angled, long period easterly swell. Not much swell showing here at the beach.

Surf starts the week small. On Wednesday, there should be some choppy, building easterly wind swell as surf starts to increase ahead of a late week cold front. This will create on-shore and send in a typical, pre-frontal winter-time south swell with bigger conditions and southerly winds keeping things fairly choppy Thursday and Friday. On Saturday, winds come more north and we could see a possible clean-up early on Friday with colder temperatures. Winds go strong north/north-east Saturday afternoon, and we see high-angled north-east wind swell fill in late weekend.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “High pressure will prevail through mid week. A cold front is expected to impact the region late week, followed by a return to high pressure for the weekend and early next week.”

It’s 48* with sun this morning. Look for a high of 56* today and sun.

Water Temperature is around 51*.

Sunrise is at 7:02 a.m., and sunset will be at 6:05 p.m.
