Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for your Tuesday, February 22 at 8:30 a.m.
We are fully stocked with new Futures fins. Also, we’ll be having a sale on all Odysea and Beater Catch Surf ending today. We will feature 30% off all Catch Surf surfboards. We have a huge selection, so come check it out and save some money Monday and Tuesday.
Surf at The Washout this morning is thigh-to-waist high with a stomach high set. Looks like some fun groundswell still in the water.
Winds are east/south-east at 10 knots, and surf is bumpy but overall, pretty clean.
Look for increasing south-easterly winds at 15 to 20 this afternoon, and we see choppy surf later today.
High tide will be at 11:32 a.m., and low tide will be at 5:47 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 3.9 ft. at 6 seconds in a medium period east/south-east swell mixed with a short-period south =-east wind swell.
High pressure sets up to our north-east off the mid-Atlantic states and we should see some small, lazy trade wind swell with slightly cleaner conditions into mid-week. This should be building through Wednesday. After smaller (but rideable) surf on Thursday, looks like some swell in the forecast for late week, too as a cold front approaches Friday and winds come stronger from the south-west, creating choppy conditions for late week with continued surf. Surf goes back to high angled north-east wind swell for the weekend after a cold front passage.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “Atlantic high pressure will prevail through late week followed by a cold front. Over the weekend, low pressure and another cold front will bring unsettled weather.”
It’s 63* and cloudy this morning. Look for a high of 67* and sun coming out this afternoon.
Water Temperature is around 56*.
Sunrise is at 6:55 a.m., and sunset will be at 6:11 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
