Good morning this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop report and forecast for Valentines Day, 2024. Who loves ‘ya, baby?
Get your mom some flowers, your grandma a card and don’t give your significant other, The Jack. Because the surf isn’t giving us any love.
It’s flat as flat as you’re middle school rap game out there today. From the pier to The Washout.
Winds are north at around 5 knots and surf zone is textured and weak.
We expect north-east winds at 5 to 10 knots later this morning, going south-east at 10 knots this afternoon. Should be a beautiful beach day for a walk with your love later on this afternoon.
We have a high tide at 11:17 a.m. Low tide will be at 5:20 p.m.
Edisto Buoy is reading 1 foot at 11 seconds in a long period south-east ground swell, pushing against a fresh, short-period north wind-swell: 2 feet at 3 seconds.
Mid-to-late week, look for smaller surf as high pressure sets up over our marine area. This trend lasts through the weekend, as of now. Looking like a possible low pressure system starting to form off of our coast early next week, but it’s early. We’ll keep you updated. Meanwhile, enjoy this nice weather.
Water temp is around 59*.
The NOAA Marine Forecast for our waters calls for: “High pressure will prevail into late week, before a cold front moves through on Saturday. High pressure will return early next week.”
It’s 49* and sunny with light winds. Look for a nice day with a high of 60*, light winds and sun.
Sunrise is 7:04 a.m., Sunset 6:03 p.m.
That’s all from us at Ocean Surf Shop. We’ll check back tomorrow.
