Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Tuesday, February 9 at 8:30 a.m.

New Billabong and Volcom men’s and women’s apparel and board-shorts have arrived for spring. Come check them out!

Surf this morning is thigh high. There is an occasional waist/stomach-high set. Looks OK for a high volume board.

Winds are north/north-west at 3 to 5 knots, and surf zone is nice and  clean.

Winds rotate south-east at 5 knots, then west later today. Surf zone should overall be clean today.

Tide is going out, and we have a low tide right around noon. High tide is at 6:04 p.m.

Virtual buoy readings are showing 3.5 ft. at 5 seconds in a short period south-east wind swell, with a southerly south-east medium period swell, 2.4 ft at 8 seconds.

We have unsettled weather along our marine area and a lazy east/south-east swell rolling in for the high volume boards with mostly clean conditions today. Surf looks to fall off some for Wednesday, but we should have a continued lazy trade wind swell Thursday as there will be some on-shore flow and some swell off-shore. After a cold front passage Friday, we see a typical, high angled north-east wind swell pass by our beaches for the weekend.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “Conditions will gradually become more unsettled during the middle of the week. A cold front will sweep through the region Friday, before high pressure returns to the area late this weekend. A low pressure system could impact the region early next week.”

It is 55* and cloudy with showers at the beach. Look for a high of 62* and clouds with occasional showers this afternoon.

Water temperature is 52*.

Sunrise is at 7:07 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:59 p.m.
