Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Tuesday, January 12 at 8:30 a.m.

Surf at Folly is still knee-high. There is rarely a slightly bigger set.

Winds are north/north-west this morning at 10 to 12 knots, and surf zone is very clean.

Look for winds to shift north at 10 to 15 knots this afternoon, adding some side-shore drift to small surf.

We are coming off a high tide early this morning, Low tide will be right around 1:12 p.m., and high tide will be at 7:09 p.m.

Virtual buoy data is reading a very small 1 ft. in mixed-period east/southeast swell.

Pretty small, cold surf today. Bring the log if you want to get wet. There will be a weak low pressure crossing our marine area mid-week, possibly producing some SMALL surf into Wednesday. Another cold front approaches late week, and this could push up some choppy south-west wind swell Friday, falling off and perhaps cleaning up some for early day Saturday.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “High pressure will prevail through Thursday. A strong cold front will move through the region Friday night, followed by high pressure through the weekend and into early next week. Another area of low pressure could impact the region during the early to middle part of next week.”

It is a 48* and cloudy this morning with showers. Look for some clearing this afternoon and a high of 55*.

Water temperature is 54*.

Sunrise is at 7:22 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:33 p.m.
