Good morning this is Bates with you Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Tuesday, January 31 at 8:30 a.m.
New Odysea softboards boards have arrived at the shop, including Wave Bandit models and Logs. Come check ‘em out.
We also have a ton of wetsuits jackets and spring -suits for men and kids. They just arrived, so get them before it starts to get warmer, which is right around the corner.
Surf at Folly this morning is around knee high with a thigh set. It is closing out at the morning’s low tide but there might be a longboard wave early afternoon as the tide pushes back in. There is very heavy fog in the area.
Winds are slack, and surf zone is clean.
Winds should continue light and variable at 5 knots this morning, going south-west at 5 knots this afternoon. We see a relatively clean surf zone all day.
We have a low tide approaching at 10:08 a.m. High tide will fill in at 4:10 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 2.3 feet at 10 seconds in a long period east/south-east swell.
Mid-week the surf stays relatively small. Looks like it will be longboard-able as the tide starts to push around noon. the We see a quick but unimpressive shot of north-east swell pass our beaches (mostly) and build swell into Florida. Another low pressure looks to possibly push up south-west wind swell on Friday before winds and swell go strong from the north-east, building a sweeping north-east wind swell with cooler weather and choppy drifty conditions for Saturday and Sunday.
The NOAA Marine Weather forecast for our area calls for: “A series of weak fronts will impact the region through mid-week. A stronger storm system will affect the area Thursday into Friday.
It’s 61* and super foggy this morning. Look for a high of 64* today with clouds and a chance for some showers all day.
Water temperature, it’s 55*.
Sunrise is at 7:14 a.m., and sunset will be at 5:51 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
