Waves at The Washout are waist high with a bigger set, occasionally. Winds are on it this morning and it is semi-choppy with a slight drift to the north.

Winds are west/south-west at 9-12 knots, and surf is semi-choppy with the side-shore wind.

We are expecting winds to increase south-west at 10 to 15 by mid-afternoon with gusts around 20 knots. We should see some chop in the surf zone later today, but waves will likely stay fun all day.

Tide is coming in. High tide will be at 1:34 pm. The next low tide will be at 7:39 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 5.6 feet at an average of 6.5 seconds in a shorter period south/south-east wind swell and a south-east medium period swell.

Things get choppy this afternoon as winds increase south-west at 15 knots.  High pressure sets up well off the Mid-Atlantic states today, pushing in some trade wind swell today and Tuesday, with today seeing the biggest surf. The south-west winds continue today and there will be surf though mid-week. Low quality, short period south-west wind swell increasing late week, but it will likely still be rideable.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “A trough will linger near the area through Wednesday. A cold front will drop into the area Thursday night, then dissipate Friday. High pressure will build in for the weekend.”

It’s 83* with clear skies and breezy. We’ll have a high of 86* today with a chance of showers again today.

Water Temperature is around 84*.

Sunrise is at 6:25 a.m., and sunset will be at 8:26 p.m.
