Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Tuesday, June 14 at 8:30 a.m.

Surf at The Washout this morning is knee-to-thigh high and overall clean, if not a little weak. Looks OK for the longboard this morning. Better get it before the wind comes up and the tide goes out.

Winds are west/south-west at 5 to 10  knots, and surf zone is weak and clean.

Look for south-west winds increasing 10 to 15 knots, then clocking south this afternoon. We see small, weak choppy surf later today.

We just had a high tide, and low tide will be at 2:13 p.m., and high tide will be at 8:51 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 2.3 feet at 6 seconds in a short=period south/south-east wind swell.

We continue to see short-period south wind swell and overall weak surf into the middle part of the work week as dry high pressure is set up over our marine area and there are not any real wave making systems in the Atlantic.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “Hot and dry high pressure will prevail into late week before a cold front likely impacts the region this weekend.”

It’s 83* and sunny this morning. We have a heat advisory in effect today, with daytime temperatures reaching 92*.

Water Temperature is around 84*.

Sunrise is at 6:11 a.m., and sunset will be at 8:29 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
