Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Tuesday, June 21 at 8:30 a.m.   

Surf at the Pier this morning is flat.  

Winds are north-west at 5 to 8 knots, and surf zone is clean early this morning.  

Look for south-west winds coming south at 10 to 15 knots this afternoon. Look for some surface chop in the water this afternoon.

We have a low tide as of report time. High tide will be at 3 p.m., and low tide will be at 9:08 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading a paltry 1.6 feet at 8 seconds.

High pressure sets up over our marine area this week, and surf will average around knee high with a thigh set with semi-choppy conditions during the daytime. Typical summer south-west wind swell should pick up on Thursday. Not a lot of swell making systems predicted this week. Welcome to summer surf.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “High pressure will prevail before a trough of low pressure develops over the region mid week. A cold front could then advance into or stall near the region late week into the weekend.”

It’s nice at the beach. It’s 78* with clouds. Look for a high of 85* with sun and passing clouds today.  

Water Temperature is around 84*.

Sunrise is at 6:11 a.m., and sunset will be at 8:30 p.m.
