Good morning, this is  Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Tuesday, June 30 at 8:30 a.m.

Mandatory Mask Ordinance enacted by Folly Beach City Council on Monday. You must wear a mask in Ocean Surf Shop. Thank you for your cooperation, and for supporting our small, local business.

Surf at Folly is knee-to-thigh high with a waist set in small south wind swell, south-east ground swell mix. It’s closing-out at the morning’s low tide, but might get better as the tide rolls in late morning.

Winds are west/south-west at 5 knots and the surf is clean. Bring the long-board if you want to get wet, and shows potential for long-board waves as the tide comes in late morning.

Winds should continue from the south-west today at 5 to 10 knots, side-shore. Surface texture and a bit of chop more noticeable in the afternoon hours with winds variable in storms this afternoon.

We have a low tide at 10:07 a.m., and a high tide will be at 4:43 p.m. The next low tide is at 10:56 pm.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 1 ft. at 4 seconds in a south south/south-west wind-swell, with a south-east swell 2 feet at 9 seconds.

There were a few fun longboard waves yesterday, and there should be a longboard wave on the incoming tide today. A weak upper level through will linger over our marine area over the first half the work week bringing with it surf averaging knee high, with perhaps a thigh set.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “Weak low pressure will linger over or near the region through the holiday weekend. Low pressure may then impact the area early next week.”

It’s 81* and partly cloudy this morning. Look for a hot, humid day with a  high of 85* and a 50% chance for a shower or thunderstorm this afternoon.

Water temperature is 82*.

Sunrise is at 6:14 a.m. and sunset will be at 8:31 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
