Good morning this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Tuesday, April 11 at 8:30 a.m.
We have new Secula, Stewart and Rusty boards in the shop. About 20 new fresshies in the shop. So, if you’re feeling squirrely, come check them out. Also, lots of new spring suits are in stock for men and women. Get ready for some warm weather surfing.
Surf is around waist-to-stomach high in drifty north-east conditions. It actually looks kind of fun, but its not perfect.
Winds are north-east at 10 to 15 knots. So, you’re going to get pulled down the beach, but the north-east wind should abate some later today rotating more easterly, which should warm things up out here.
We have a high tide at 12:12 p.m. and low tide will be at 6:19 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 7 feet at 12 seconds in an east/south-east swell.
Surfs is waist to stomach high in a drifty north-east wind-swell. It looks ok this morning, if not perfect, but all bets are off it will be OK this afternoon. Just looking for this pesky north-east wind to calm down. North-east wind swell will continue for our beaches through Wednesday, when wind and swell will build again from the south ahead of a low pressure system moving out of the GOMEX. So look for late week to produce some pre-frontal wind waves.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “High pressure will prevail through the middle of the week. Low pressure originating in the Gulf of Mexico should bring impacts to the area late Thursday into Friday. A front could approach the region early next week”
It’s 55* with showers in the aera. Look for the weather to stay the same, with rain increasing this afternoon.
Water temperature is back down to 64* after the cold snap.
Sunrise is at 7:01 a.m., and sunset will be at 7:43 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
