Good morning this is Bates your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Tuesday, March 21 at 8:30 a.m.
We have tons of new spring merchandise landing daily, including boardshorts from Jetty, Vissla, Billabong, O’Neill, Katin and more. Come by and see what’s new.
Surf at Folly showing knee-to-thigh high with waist high sets in a high-angled north-east wind swell.
Winds are north/north-east – side-shore – at 10 to 15 knots, and surf zone is drifty down the beach with semi-clean, weak waves. North-east winds should abate some this afternoon.
We had a high tide at report time, a low tide at 2:28 p.m., and a high tide at 8:42 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 3.3 feet at 9 in an easterly swell, with a short period east/north-east wind swell reading 3 feet at 5 6 seconds.
Surfs trying to pick back up its showing knee-thigh high drifty NE conditions. Overall doesn’t look to hot but there is a little nugget out there. This trend should continue until mid-week when are winds are forecasted to rotate more favorably onshore to get a little of this swell moving our way. Our work week ends with a cold front forecasted to move through on Saturday. This will bring bigger, choppy south-west wind waves to Folly Friday into Saturday morning with the hope for a clean-up session sometime Saturday afternoon. We’ll keep you updated on the forecast.
The NOAA Marine Weather forecast for our area calls for: “High pressure will remain the primary feature across the region through the rest of the week. A cold front is expected to pass through on Saturday.”
It’s 47* chilly this morning with sunny skies. Look for a high of 59* today and sun.
Water temperature fell back to 60*. Brrrrr.
Sunrise is at 7:28 a.m., and sunset will be at 7:28 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
