Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Tuesday, March 30 at 8:30 a.m.

Surf at The Washout this morning is ankle-to-knee high.

Winds are north-east at 15. Surf is side-shore, drifty, weak and semi-choppy. It does not look so good this morning.

Look for east winds this afternoon at 10 knots and semi-choppy surf all day.

We have a high tide at 9:47 a.m., and a low tide at 3:53 p.m. The next high tide is at 10:18 p.m.

Virtual buoy readings are showing 1.9 ft. at 8 seconds in a small, medium period south wind swell.

Look for small, high angled north-east wind swell today. Most of this wind swell will pass by our beaches. Look for this swell to rotate more on-shore during the middle part of the week as a cold front approaches for Wednesday evening brining on-shore flow to our marine area. That will likely be our best chance for meaningful surf. The strong cold front passes off-shore on Thursday morning, when surf will clean up some and drop rapidly. Winds/swell pushes off-shore Friday and into the weekend, when surf goes small and we see unseasonable cool temperatures.

Your National Weather Service Marine Weather forecast calls for: “A weak upper disturbance will affect the region through today. A strong cold front will then sweep through Wednesday night, followed by dry and cool high pressure.”

It is currently 59* with clouds at the beach. Look for a mostly cloudy skies with periods of sun and a high of 71*.

Water temperature is around 63*.

Sunrise is at 7:08 a.m. and sunset will be at 7:38 p.m.
