Good morning this is Bates you Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Tuesday, March 7 at 8:30 a.m.

Surf at Folly this morning is small. It’s perhaps knee high, but not really rideable.

Winds are west/south-west, and surf zone is overall clean, but it’s side-shore with the winds.

We expect westerly winds today becoming gusty at 15 to 20 this afternoon. This wind will eventually rotate north-west, straight offshore, and surf zone will be overall clean for your Tuesday with very small surf.

We had an early morning high tide, and low tide drops out at 1:46 p.m. with another high filling in at 8:03 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 3.6 feet at 5 seconds in a short period south-west wind swell.

Surf looks small for your Tuesday, and through mid-week. After a cold front passage today, we expect stronger winds from the north mid-week, pushing swell past our beaches. This trend will continue for the next week to 10 days, and if you want some surf, Florida might be the best call as the forecast calls for a north-east swell this weekend into early next week. Unfortunately, we’ll be sitting in the dugout for this inning.

The NOAA Marine Weather forecast for our area calls for: “A cold front will cross the region today into tonight, followed by high pressure through Thursday. Another cold front will impact the area late week. High pressure will return over the weekend.”

It’s 70* and sunny this morning. Another beautiful winter’s day. Look for a high of 78* and sun with wind picking up this afternoon.

Water temperature is up to 65*.

The days are getting longer. Sunrise is at 6:47 a.m., and sunset will be at 6:16 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
