Good morning this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Tuesday, May 30 at 8:30 a.mm.
Surf at the Folly around knee-high and looking pretty weak overall.
Winds are east/north-east at 5 to 10 knots, and surf is weak and semi-choppy.
We have a low tide at 10:33 a.m. High tide fills in at 5:11 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 2 ft at 7 seconds in a medium period swell from the ESE.
Surf should be pretty small through the end of the week. A good week to begin surf camps. North-east swell could pick up late week as a low pressure system moves off the coast of Florida Saturday, pushing up some bigger surf Sunday into Monday of nest week.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “A mid-level disturbance will linger along the Southeast Atlantic coast through mid-week, meanwhile an area of surface high pressure will wedge southward. Low pressure could form across southern Florida near the end of the week and move northeast into the Atlantic over the weekend.”
Its 72* and mostly cloudy this morning. Look for skies to clean with a high of 76*. We could see some passing clouds.
Water temperature dropped back to 70* with the short cold snap. It’ll be warm again before you know it.
Sunrise is at 6:14 a.m., and sunset will be at 8:19 p.m.
